48th BAS CLUB REUNION
5th- 7th July 2024 – CAMBRIDGE
The 2024 reunion will take place in Cambridge, based at Wolfson College, with a visit to BAS where the AGM will be held.
All activities will be treated on a ‘first come first served’ basis, numbers are limited for both accommodation in the college and places at the dinner.
Accommodation at Wolfson College, Barton Road, Cambridge, CB3 9BB
All available roms are now booked and it is no longer possible ro book accommodation.There is accommodation available via AirBnB and hotels locally but we recommend booking as soon as possible.
Catering
Friday Evening: An evening meal will be available in Wolfson College canteen on Friday evening (between 6 and 7pm), food priced per item. Alternatively there are restaurants in Cambridge, and the Red Bull, and Anchor in Newnham are an easy walk.
Saturday There are no arranged visits on Saturday morning, but the Scott Polar Museum in Lensfield Road, CB3 1ER is worth a visit as is the Fitzwilliam Museum on Trumpington Street, Cambridge CB2 1RB. Both these are a pleasant walk from Wolfson.
Saturday Brunch 10.30 til 2pm
NB that if you intend to go on the BAS visit, it starts at 1pm so you’ll need to factor in timings. Alternatively, bring a picnic lunch or sandwiches to enjoy in the Memorial Orchard at BAS. There are no catering facilities at BAS this weekend.
British Antarctic Survey Afternoon Visit – Saturday 6th July 2024, 1.00 pm
Meet at BAS, High Cross, Madingley Road, Cambridge, CB3 0ET. We expect a coach service will run from Wolfson to BAS and return after the AGM. The Annual General Meeting will take place at BAS at 4.30 pm, please note the AGM itself is for BAS Club members only. There are good bus services to BAS. The U2 bus service from Barton Road, outside the college entrance towards Eddington, stops at Philippa Fawcett Drive and the park and ride service from the city centre stops at Madingley road. High Cross is across the A3103, Madingley Road.

BAS Club Dinner at Wolfson College – 8.00pm (drinks reception from 7.15pm)
We have 20 or so places left for the AGM Dinner at Wolfson which are still available to be booked
Three Course Dinner £51.54 per person. The dinner will be preceded by a complimentary drinks reception at the college at 7.15pm, sponsored by an old FID. Dinner includes tea & coffee, wine needs to be purchased on the day, and there is use of the well stocked college pay bar before, during and after dinner.
Starter
- Whipped goats cheese, pickled beetroot caramelised fig salad and poppy seed granola
Main course
- Beef with herbs, smoked garlic pomme puree, sauté girolles and baby vegetables
- Main Vegetarian Option: Tomato and artichoke tart with ratatouille and olive and watercress pesto
Dessert
- Summer berries and meringue, with vanilla cream with salted toffee sauce.

DIRECTIONS TO WOLFSON COLLEGE
Access from the M11 is via junction 12 onto the A603, Barton Road. Wolfson College is two miles from the junction. Car parking is available in the college grounds. The college is a short drive or bus ride from BAS.
