‘Grateful you notify members of the following: Owen Summers, Met, King Edward Point winter of 1970, died very suddenly in Santiago Chile in the early hours of Sunday 19th following a stroke at his home in Stanley on Friday 17th.’

BAS Club Member, Colleen Leavey, nee Rowlands, died in hospital in West Cumbria on 1st March. Colleen was a Falkland Islander who had worked in F.I.D.S office in Port Stanley in the 1950s but had lived in U.K. since then.
Sir Cosmo, Governor of the FIs and Ds and High Commissioner BAT, 1964-70, died shortly after his 100th birthday on 21 February this year. He was at home in Tregariff, County Cork, Ireland.
‘Some sad but not totally unexpected news the Mike Skidmore passed away on Sunday 19th Feb in the local hospice after a long fight against
Cancer. His wife Sylvia will let me know the funeral details when it is sorted out and I will pass them on.’
Stella Sievwright rang Phil Cotton to let him know that Munro Sievwright had died peacefully in his sleep on the 18th February. Munro has been looked after in a nursing home for many years after suffering early-onset dementia.
